Public Service's New Home

The new public service counter which combines the Circulation function with the Reference Desk was recently installed, and Library staff have begun the transition to their new work space.  Construction for the 6,000 square foot addition is substantially complete, though new shelving and furnishings still have not been received.  Sidewalks on 9th Street also await construction.  Library Director Steve Skidmore said that it may be November before the project is complete.

Dog tired

Bear, construction mascot for the Siuslaw Public Library Expansion project, takes a break from his arduous duties to catch a little bit of rest time.  Bear's owner, Brian Quade of Quade Commerical Construction of Lincoln City, is the construction superintendent for the project.

Remember, additional parking is available at Siuslaw Valley Christian Center located at 9th and Maple, as well as parking on side streets.
